Summer Game Studio 2020
July 12th – 25th
This residence program introduces high school students to all aspects of game development including: game design; game art and animation; motion capture; programming; sound; testing; and production.
Students will gain real-world experience by working as a development team that collaborates across all game development disciplines to build original Game projects. Using the same curriculum from Becker’s internationally acclaimed video game major, students in the Studio will work side-by-side in a creative cohort that stresses the importance of teamwork and creative collaboration. At the end of The Studio, students will have completed a portion of a fully functional video game that will be showcased for local professionals, and will have gained an understanding of the behind-the scenes operations of a real game studio.
Live in one of our residence halls during your entire camp experience. Dine in and enjoy every meal in our newly renovated cafeteria.
Learn in the new state-of-the-art Colleen C.Barrett Center, Becker’s new home for Game and Live Studio, Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality Lab, faculty offices, MassDiGI/New Ventures Center, Yunus Social Business Centre, 24/7 technology access, and more!
Trips to the world’s largest arcade that offers over 600 games, including 300 classic arcade games, cash bingo, indoor mini-golf, a restaurant, a tavern and more! If you need a break from video games all together, get ready to throw some strikes during atomic bowling night.
